Softball Recap: Five Straight Home Victories for Mcadory

McAdory won against West Blocton on Friday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The McAdory Yellowjackets beat the John Carroll Catholic Cavaliers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-4. Considering the Yellowjackets have won three matches by more than seven runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Josie Mahaffey was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Kaileigh Forbes, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

McAdory was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The last time their batting average was this high was back in March of 2024.

McAdory pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing 11.4 hits in those games compared to only 5.33 in the others. As for John Carroll Catholic, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, McAdory will be taking part in a tournament against Calera at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for John Carroll Catholic, they will take on Sumiton Christian at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
