Basketball Recap: Ursuline Academy Takes a Loss

Ursuline Academy has relied on a stalwart defense averaging 28.84 points allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 67-25 loss at the hands of the Academy of the Sacred Heart Cardinals. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while the Cardinals are ranked 105th).

When it comes to explaining why Ursuline Academy lost, don't look at Emma Dunkin. Despite the final result, she posted ten points.

Ursuline Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Academy of the Sacred Heart, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
