Timpview is 7-1 against Maple Mountain since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Timpview Thunderbirds take on the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Timpview is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Timpview is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Utah's top teams: Salem Hills, who was ranked sixth at the time (Timpview was ranked 15th). Timpview took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salem Hills two weeks ago. While the Thunderbirds didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Skyhawks 16-10 in the first quarter.

Despite their defeat, Timpview saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tasi Galeai, who posted eight points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Lina Ballin, who put up 11 points.

Meanwhile, Maple Mountain beat Birmingham 62-54 last Saturday.

Timpview better focus on containing Leah Bailey and Ashlynn Lainhart as the pair were huge in Maple Mountain's win. Bailey went 8 of 15 on her way to 26 points along with five assists and five boards, while Lainhart went 8 of 14 from beyond the arc on her way to 26 points and three steals. Lainhart is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jemima Griffin, who had four points and seven rebounds.

Maple Mountain now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Timpview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.

Timpview came up short against Maple Mountain in their previous matchup back in February, falling 55-44. Can Timpview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
