Softball Recap: Girls Prep Has No Trouble Against Rockvale

While Girls Prep didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Rockvale with a sharp 8-1 win on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Bruisers, who have now won six matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Girls Prep got a massive performance out of Jayla Gladden, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Adrianna Reyes was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Girls Prep lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Girls Prep is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. Rockvale's loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Girls Prep didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 win against Knoxville Catholic on the 25th. As for Rockvale, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 5-2 defeat against Siegel on the 27th.
