Basketball Recap: Kellis Cougars vs. Sunrise Mountain Mustangs
Kellis had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 6-14 to make it four. They took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 81-61 back in January.
As for Sunrise Mountain, they now have a winning record of 13-12. The win was a breath of fresh air for they as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Sunrise Mountain was led to victory by Steven Brown and Isaac Maskovich. Brown went 6-for-13 on his way to 21 points, while Maskovich shot 43% from the field to rack up 16 points. Those 21 points gave Brown a new career-high. Carter Pendelton was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Kellis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sunrise Mountain, they will venture away from home to face off against Ironwood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.33 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
