Roosevelt's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Garfield on Monday. The Roughriders never let the Interlake Saints get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Roughriders, who have now won nine matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Eva Lacey and Gretchen Harder made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Lacey pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Harder pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. At the plate, Lacey went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI, while Harder fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those five RBI gave Harder a new career-high.
In other batting news, Roosevelt got a massive performance out of Samantha Wright, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Pia Regala, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
Roosevelt was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They are a perfect 8-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Roosevelt's victory bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Interlake, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 13-10.
Roosevelt wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-6 win against Bishop Blanchet on the 13th. Interlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
