Preview: Timberland Wolves vs. Stratford Knights
The Timberland Wolves will head out on the road to face off against the Stratford Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Timberland will be strutting in after a win while Stratford will be coming in after a defeat.
Last Monday, everything went Timberland's way against Cross as Timberland made off with a 64-38 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Timberland's disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 143rd, while Cross is ranked 21st).
Timberland relied on the efforts of Zion Prioleau, who scored 19 points along with three steals, and Da?Sani Kinlaw, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Prioleau has scored at least 25% of Timberland's points. China Greene was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, Stratford's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They fell 39-28 to Timberland.
Timberland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 4-4 record this season. As for Stratford, they have fallen quite a ways from their 25-5 record last season and are now at 1-5.
Timberland beat Stratford 39-28 in their previous meeting on Wednesday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Timberland since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
