Soccer Recap: Thibodaux Comes Up Short

After flying high against Assumption on Friday, Thibodaux came back down to earth. The Tigers opened the new year with a less-than-successful 3-1 loss to the Academy of the Sacred Heart Cardinals.

Thibodaux's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-2. As for Academy of the Sacred Heart, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-1-1 record this season.

Thibodaux will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Destrehan at 5:00 p.m. The match will give Thibodaux their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Academy of the Sacred Heart, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Loyola College Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
