Baseball Game Preview: Centaurus Warriors vs. Denver North Vikings

The Centaurus Warriors will square off against the Denver North Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Centaurus' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so Denver North's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Centaurus is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest defeat since April 13, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Northfield by a score of 6-4.

Centaurus got a good showing from Tavian Gomez, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Gomez has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Centaurus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Hilt, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Andrew Murphy also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Meanwhile, Denver North came up short against Arapahoe on Tuesday and fell 11-6. That's two games in a row now that the Vikings have lost by exactly five runs.

This is the second loss in a row for Denver North and nudges their season record down to 2-2. As for Centaurus, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 2-2.
