Baseball Game Preview: Christ School Greenies vs. Asheville Christian Academy Lions

The Christ School Greenies will square off against the Asheville Christian Academy Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Christ School is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Last Thursday, Christ School didn't have quite enough to beat Rabun Gap-Nacoochee and fell 4-3.

Davis Jones was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits.

At the plate, Jonathan Reece made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Christ School is 2-1 when Reece posts one or more home runs, but 4-12-1 otherwise.

Meanwhile, Asheville Christian Academy came into Wednesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Owen a 5-0 shutout on Wednesday.

Christ School has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record this season. As for Asheville Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Christ School took their win against Asheville Christian Academy in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 20-0 score. Will the Greenies repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
