Softball Recap: California City Find Success

California City won the last time they faced Kern Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Ravens walked away with a 12-8 win over the Broncs.

Nevaeh Ramirez was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makayla Haggins, who went 4-for-5 with three runs and one RBI. Abbie Hogan was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

California City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kern Valley only posted a batting average of .200.

California City's victory bumped their record up to 14-11. As for Kern Valley, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-7.

As of now, neither California City nor the Broncs have any future games scheduled.
