Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Home Wins for Northwest

There's no place like home for Northwest, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Walter Johnson Wildcats 76-56 on Tuesday. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Northwest's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alexander Greenfield, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 13 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddison Floyd, who posted 11 points along with five boards and three steals.

Northwest smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Northwest pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.5 points per game. As for Walter Johnson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Northwest will venture away from home to challenge Springbrook at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Springbrook knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Northwest likes a good challenge. As for Walter Johnson, they will take on Magruder at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
