Baseball Preview: Woodland Park Panthers vs. Palmer Terrors

The Woodland Park Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Palmer Terrors at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Woodland Park is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.

While Woodland Park didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They beat Harrison on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 12-2. The win made it back-to-back victories for Woodland Park.

Cody Becker was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Those doubles marked the first that he hit this season.

In other batting news, Link Bryden was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs. Those three doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Marquez, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
