Basketball Recap: Bigtyme Prep Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Isaiah Stewart and Dailon Minor

On Saturday, the BigTyme Prep Academy Bears came up short against the Frenship Tigers and fell 63-55. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 245th, while the Tigers are ranked 98th).

Dailon Minor and Isaiah Stewart certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Minor went 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and five boards, while Stewart went 6 of 15 on his way to 14 points and four steals. Stewart continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Zion Ibekwe, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points.

BigTyme Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Frenship, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

BigTyme Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Frenship, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Frenship Tigers face off against the San Angelo Central Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. San Angelo Central knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 24 games -- so hopefully Frenship likes a good challenge.
