Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Trinity Christian Academy was the 63-31 winner over Matanzas when they last played one another back in January of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Trinity Christian Academy Eagles took a blow against the Matanzas Pirates on Thursday, falling 50-6. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-3.

Among those leading the charge was Katelynn Smith, who posted 15 points. Her evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ruby Fogel, who had ten points.

Trinity Christian Academy dropped their record down to 1-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Matanzas, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Trinity Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-2 loss against City of Life Christian Academy on the 13th. As for Matanzas, they will head out to square off against St. Joseph Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
