Basketball Recap: West Comes Up Short

West and Skyline squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but West had to settle for second. They lost 67-44 to the Skyline Eagles. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

When it comes to explaining why West lost, don't look at Phillip Ladua. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points in addition to five boards and four blocks. Abraham Toronto also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.

Skyline's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Wilson, who went 8-for-10 on his way to 18 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. Those 18 points gave Wilson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Beau Bierman, who posted 15 points.

West's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Skyline, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11.

West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Skyline, they are taking a road trip to square off against Springville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Skyline is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
