Basketball Recap: Carrboro Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last eight contests, Carrboro finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans, falling 75-28. The matchup marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was DB Hamlett, who posted eight points. Bakari Watkins was another key player, putting up seven points.

Jackson Keith was his usual excellent self, going 9 of 16 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability. The contest was Keith's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was AJ Morman Jr., who went 5 for 8 en route to 11 points and three steals.

Carrboro moved to 7-10 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Southern School of Energy and Sustainability, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season.
