Ste. Genevieve took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Murphysboro, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Ste. Genevieve skirted past Murphysboro 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Dragons have posted since April 13, 2024.

Ste. Genevieve has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 5 runs this season. As for Murphysboro, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
