Baseball Recap: Cardinal Gibbons Takes a Loss

Cardinal Gibbons suffered their biggest defeat since February 11th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Stoneman Douglas Eagles, falling 15-7. The loss continues a trend for the Chiefs in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Kendrick Julmis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eddie Marshall, who fired off two home runs while going 2-for-3.

Julmis wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Cardinal Gibbons lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Cardinal Gibbons' defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Stoneman Douglas, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Cardinal Gibbons didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 9-6 win against Coral Springs on the 13th. As for Stoneman Douglas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Miller School of Albemarle on the 12th.
