Softball Recap: Fowlerville Comes Up Short

If Fowlerville was riding high fresh off their 13-5 takedown of East Lansing on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Gladiators came up short against the Waverly Warriors on Monday, falling 10-2. The Gladiators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Fowlerville got a good showing from Bailey Armstrong, who struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Fowlerville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery Borg, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Fowlerville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Waverly, their record is now 7-4.

Looking ahead, Fowlerville will take on St. Johns at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gladiators are facing the Redwings at the right time seeing as the Redwings are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Waverly, they will face off against Dansville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Aggies will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight.
