Gwynedd Mercy Academy entered their tilt with Faith Christian Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Lions 3-0. While the Monarchs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Faith Christian Academy between 15 and 16 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-15, 25-16.

Emma Fazio paced Gwynedd Mercy Academy's offense, picking up nine kills. Fazio got some help from Peggy Dougherty and her 24 assists. Carolyn Walton controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Faith Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Gwynedd Mercy Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against Lansdale Catholic on the 22nd. As for Faith Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Chester Charter Scholars Academy at 5:00 p.m. on October 6.
