Football Recap: Beaufort Takes a Loss

Beaufort had lost three straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 3-7 to make it four. They were beaten by the Hilton Head Island Seahawks 53-20. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Seahawks are ranked 28th).

As for Hilton Head Island, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.6 points over those games.

Thaddeus Czarnecki was his usual excellent self, rushing for 169 yards and three TDs on only 14 carries. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 107.4 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Derrick Raniszewski, who threw for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes.

Beaufort has already played their next contest, a 63-13 loss against South Pointe on the 7th. As for Hilton Head Island, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 52-24 victory against South Aiken on the 7th.
