Volleyball Recap: Picayune Comes Up Short

Picayune was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sacred Heart Crusaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Maroon Tide of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2022.

Picayune's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Sacred Heart, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.

Coming up, Picayune will be playing in front of their home fans against Petal at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Maroon Tide surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sacred Heart, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Our Lady Academy on the 20th.
