Baseball Game Preview: Marquez Gladiators vs. Torres Toros

For the second straight game, Marquez will face off against Torres. The Gladiators will face off against the Toros at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Marquez's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Torres' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Torres will be up against a hot Marquez team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Gladiators walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Toros on Monday.

Jason Gutierrez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits.

Marquez's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Torres, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 11-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Marquez has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Torres struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 11.9 strikeouts.
