Basketball Recap: Brewster Finds Home Court Redemption Against Cle Elum-Roslyn

There's no place like home for Brewster, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They strolled past the Cle Elum-Roslyn Warriors with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 70-52.

Thomas Mccarthy was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 26 points and 16 rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 8.3 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Churape, who went 7 of 15 on his way to 19 points.

Brewster smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Brewster's victory bumped their record up to 2-8. As for Cle Elum-Roslyn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

Brewster and Cle Elum-Roslyn could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Brewster (ranked 251st) will meet Lake Roosevelt (ranked 31st) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cle Elum-Roslyn (ranked 267th) will meet La Salle (ranked 120th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
