Softball Recap: Harper Creek Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

After losing to Western the last time they met, Harper Creek decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Beavers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 7-2 on Tuesday.

Aleena Stahlhood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kaylee Kirkpatrick was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Kennedy Halverson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Harper Creek is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Western, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-3.

Harper Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair will be back at it again later today.
