Soccer Game Preview: Edisto vs. Bethune-Bowman

The Edisto Cougars will head out to challenge the Bethune-Bowman Mohawks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Edisto's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Edisto and Barnwell had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Cougars lost 8-0 to the Warhorses on April 1st. That's two games in a row now that Edisto have lost by exactly eight goals.

Meanwhile, while the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Charleston Math & Science who was credited with the victory on Wednesday. The Riptide got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Bethune-Bowman's one. Bethune-Bowman have struggled against Charleston Math & Science recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Bethune-Bowman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Edisto, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Edisto might still be hurting after the 5-1 defeat they got from Bethune-Bowman in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Cougars were down 3-0.
