Basketball Recap: Lawson Comes Up Short

Lawson suffered their biggest loss since November 17, 2023 on Friday. They lost 67-42 to the Hume-Fogg Blue Knights. The defeat continues a trend for the Lightning in their matchups with the Blue Knights: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the loss, Lawson saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chandler Galloway posted 16 points. The game was Galloway's fifth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Austin King, who scored six points.

Alonzo Rhodes was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 15 rebounds for Hume-Fogg. That's the most boards Rhodes has posted since back in December of 2024. Michael Nwoye was another key player, dropping a double-double with 18 points and ten rebounds.

Lawson's defeat dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Hume-Fogg, they pushed their record up to 22-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home.

Lawson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 71-37 win against Glencliff on the 18th. Hume-Fogg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
