Football Recap: Elgin Comets vs. Hardin Northern Polar Bears
Elgin won the last time they faced Hardin Northern and things went their way on Friday too. The Comets blew past the Polar Bears 30-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Comets have posted against the Polar Bears since October 6, 2017.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Brennon Luikart and Archer Johnston. Luikart rushed for 185 yards and one score on only eight carries while Johnston rushed for 94 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries. Elgin is undefeated when Luikart posts 80 or more rushing yards, but 3-4 otherwise.
Elgin was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 339 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 190 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.

Despite the defeat, Hardin Northern had strong showings from Blayne Kindle, who rushed for 117 yards, and Sawyer Crossman, who picked up 82 receiving yards and one touchdown.
Elgin's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4. As for Hardin Northern, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
