It was a good run, but Tompkins unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 2-0 to Torrey Pines.

Elsa St. Rose paced Tompkins' offense, picking up eight kills. St. Rose were helped by Drew Merrell and Ava Shepard, who contributed nine assists each.

Tompkins' loss dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Torrey Pines, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Coming up, Tompkins is taking a road trip to square off against Mayde Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Torrey Pines, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against San Dieguito Academy at 6:00 p.m.
