Volleyball Recap: Tahquitz Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Marley Tuliau and Jaden Gonzalez + How To Watch

Tahquitz was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Heritage Patriots. If the Titans were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Patriots when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Tahquitz wouldn't go down easily and took Heritage into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking two-point loss. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-11, 21-25, 26-28, 15-13.

Jaden Gonzalez and Marley Tuliau certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Gonzalez had 30 assists and 25 digs, while Tuliau had 20 kills, 12 blocks, and 11 digs. Tuliau is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last eight games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Reyna Garcia, who had 13 digs and 12 kills.

Tahquitz now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Heritage, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Tahquitz didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Valley View on the 23rd. As for Heritage, they will welcome JW North at 5:15 p.m. on Monday.
