Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hazleton Area walked away with it. They blew past the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack 10-0 on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won ten games by six  runs or more  so far this season.
  Ryan Racho was  excellent,  getting on base  in two of his four plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. He has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last seven times he's  played.  Bryant Diaz was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run.
Hazleton Area is  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Wilkes-Barre, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.
As of now, neither Hazleton Area nor the Wolfpack have any future games scheduled.
