Baseball Recap: Murrieta Mesa Victorious

After losing to Vista the last time they met, Murrieta Mesa decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Rams came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 9-5 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

Jameson Minnett looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Murrieta Mesa got a big performance out of Shayne Garland, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Alex Goettman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Murrieta Mesa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vista only posted a batting average of .269.

Murrieta Mesa's record is now 7-1. As for Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Coincidentally, Murrieta Mesa and Vista will both be playing Santana the next time they take the field. The Rams will head out to face the Sultans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Panthers will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
