Soccer Game Preview: Kalani vs. Hilo

The Kalani Falcons will take on the Hilo Vikings on Thursday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Kalani is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Moanalua. Kalani haven't had any issues with Moanalua recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Daichi Fujita and Cody Fuse scored both of Kalani's goals, bringing their combined season tally to five goals.

Meanwhile, Hilo faced Kealakehe in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Vikings had just enough and edged out the Waveriders 2-1.

Hilo's victory bumped their record up to 10-1-2. As for Kalani, their win bumped their record up to 15-2-2.

Kalani beat Hilo by a goal in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, winning 1-0. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
