Basketball Recap: Stafford Piles Up the Points Against North Stafford

Stafford entered their tilt with North Stafford on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the North Stafford Wolverines 67-16. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stafford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Olivia Ferguson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Ferguson a new career-high in assists (six). Another player making a difference was Annalise Mcconnell, who posted 17 points along with five boards and three steals.

Stafford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Stafford has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.4 points per game. As for North Stafford, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-12.

Stafford will venture away from home to square off against Riverbend at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Stafford, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 49-27 defeat against Massaponax on the 31st.
