It was a good run, but Grant Park unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Kankakee Kays by a score of 2-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Grant Park actually scored more points across those three sets (68-62), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-23, 25-20.

Grant Park's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Kankakee, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Grant Park will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Donovan at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th. As for Kankakee, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Thornton on the 9th.
