Baseball Recap: Southern Nash Comes Up Short

Southern Nash lost against Bunn back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Firebirds fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-7.

Brennan Pridgen and Kwamaine Battle stepped up to the plate in a big way. Pridgen went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one run, while Battle went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Southern Nash is 3-1 when Battle posts two or more runs, but 10-11 otherwise.

Southern Nash's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Bunn, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-2.

Southern Nash does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bunn, they will be playing at home against Roanoke Rapids at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Wildcats' favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while the Yellowjackets have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
