Soccer Recap: North Gaston Comes Up Short

North Gaston was the 2-1 winner over Ashbrook when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Wildcats fell just short of the Greenwave by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The matchup was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but North Gaston couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Byron Valverde, who's now up to ten this season.

North Gaston's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for Ashbrook, their win bumped their record up to 4-13-1.

Coincidentally, North Gaston and Ashbrook will both be playing Kings Mountain the next time they take the pitch. The Wildcats will host the Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Greenwave will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
