Recap: University Trailblazers vs. Bethesda Christian Patriots
The University Trailblazers fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Bethesda Christian Patriots on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 44-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots. University was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bethesda Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
University lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Leah Norvell, who scored nine points along with 16 rebounds. Charlotte Conyers was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Bethesda Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sydney Goodin, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Goodin hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Fulks, who scored 13 points along with seven assists and two steals.
University's loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Bethesda Christian, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
University will face off against Bethesda Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Bethesda Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday. As for they, they will be playing at home against Indianapolis Washington at 6:00 p.m. Indianapolis Washington will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Bethesda Christian is ranked 140th).
