League recap: Bricking breaks off league-leading run for Cooper

Avery Bricking of Cooper ran for the longest rushing play in 5A District 5 this season against Anderson County last week. Bricking's team beat the Bearcats as he sprinted for 73 yards on the play and finished with 91 in all.

Conner extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Montgomery County, 49-20. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Cougars.

Tyler Morris has thrown for 1332 yards and 17 touchdowns this season, while Aaron Morgan has 26 catches for 555 yards. A.j. Collins leads the league in rushing with 1199 yards.

A big matchup in 5A District 5 this week will be when Randy Borchers' team takes on South Oldham. At the moment, Cooper is in first, while the Dragons are in third.

Cooper took down Anderson County 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Collins threw for 74 yards and one touchdown, ran for 128 yards and caught two passes for 37 yards in the win.
