Soccer Game Preview: Crockett vs. Bastrop

The Crockett Cougars will take on the Bastrop Bears at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Crockett's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Crockett fell victim to McCallum and their airtight defense on Saturday. They lost 3-0 to the Knights. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 757th, while the Knights are ranked 144th).

Meanwhile, Bastrop hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Tuesday. They and Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw. The Bears' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Crockett's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1. With that draw, Bastrop's record moves to 10-0-3.
