Charles O'Bannon Jr. shares a name with his famous basketball-playing father but the two won't share college alma maters.

The elder O'Bannon helped UCLA win a national title in 1995 but Charles Jr. committed to rival USC on Thursday, according to ESPN.

A 6-foot-6 shooting guard regarded as a Top 50 prospect in the Class of 2017 by 247Sports, Charles Jr. (often listed as "Chuck") averaged 21.4 points per game last season at Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) en route to MaxPreps Junior All-American honors.
O'Bannon chose USC over offers from program like Arizona, Kansas, Oregon, Texas and UCLA. In addition to the Trojans, he visited North Carolina State, Texas and UCLA this fall.

The commitment is another positive sign for Andy Enfield's program. The Trojans are 12-0 and ranked No. 23 in this week's Associated Press Top 25.
