Softball Recap: Santa Fe Picks Up 17th Straight Win at Home

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Santa Fe). Everything went their way against the Suwannee Bulldogs on Tuesday as Santa Fe made off with a 16-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.

Ryleigh Davis looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, J'Lyn Guyden was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Callie Blair also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Santa Fe pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Suwannee, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Santa Fe will head out to challenge Palatka at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Suwannee, they will venture away from home to square off against Madison County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madison County will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Suwannee surely won't give up without a fight.
