Volleyball Recap: Mt. Pulaski Hilltoppers vs. Unity Christian Lions

Mt. Pulaski was the 2-1 winner over Unity Christian when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Hilltoppers fell 2-0 to the Lions on Thursday.

While Mt. Pulaski had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-19.

Olivia Smith paced Mt. Pulaski's offense, picking up nine kills. Smith got some help from Alyson Murphy and her 14 assists.

Mt. Pulaski's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Unity Christian, they pushed their record up to 24-6 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.

Mt. Pulaski wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Hartsburg-Emden on the 18th. As for Unity Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Sacred Heart-Griffin on the 17th.
