Football Game Preview: Middletown Middies vs. Princeton Vikings

Middletown hasn't had much luck against Princeton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Middies will challenge the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Middletown 9.4, Princeton 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned.

Middletown is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 37 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Hamilton on Friday. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Blue. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Middies came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Big Blue are ranked 144th).

Meanwhile, Princeton waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 35-0 win over the Indians. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 30 points or more this season.

Princeton's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Middletown, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-2.

Middletown came up short against Princeton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, falling 13-7. Can the Middies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
