Softball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

If Kennedy was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Country Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans came up short against the Salem Academy Crusaders on Wednesday, falling 14-2. The contest marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Kennedy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grace Traeger, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Kennedy's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for Salem Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Kennedy will square off against Perrydale at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Pirates have now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season. As for Salem Academy, they will welcome Colton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
