Baseball Recap: Nicholas County Comes Up Short

Nicholas County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pendleton County Wildcats. Having soared to a lofty 16 runs in the game before, the Bluejackets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Nicholas County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Robinson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Nicholas County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Pendleton County, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 6-8-1.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nicholas County will square off against rival Harrison County at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Pendleton County is set to take on their familiar foe Robertson County at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
