Volleyball Game Preview: Liberty Lancers vs. Grand Junction Central Warriors

The Liberty Lancers will venture away from home to challenge the Grand Junction Central Warriors at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Liberty came up short against Falcon on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Liberty was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-19.

Meanwhile, Grand Junction Central came up short against Coal Ridge last Thursday and fell 3-1.

The final score came out to 25-19, 10-25, 25-20, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Grand Junction Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Delany Nostrand had 19 digs and two aces.

Grand Junction Central's loss dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Liberty came out on top in a nail-biter against Grand Junction Central when the teams last played back in October of 2023, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Lancers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
