Basketball Recap: Hauppauge Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Hauppauge won the last time they faced Wyandanch and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hauppauge Eagles took down the Wyandanch Warriors 60-45. The Eagles pushed the score to 57-17 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

When it comes to explaining why Wyandanch lost, don't look at Nyasia Murphy. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayna Severe, who posted seven points and eight boards.

Hauppauge's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-0. As for Wyandanch, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hauppauge will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Amityville Memorial at 5:45 p.m. on January 30th. Wyandanch has already played their next game (against Eastport-South Manor), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
