Baseball Preview: Mountain Home Tigers vs. Twin Falls Bruins

Mountain Home is 0-8 against Twin Falls since March of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit in Thursday's first game. The Mountain Home Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Twin Falls Bruins at 3:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Mountain Home sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over Jerome.

Easton Vivier was incredible, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Hunter Dallas was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Twin Falls got themselves on the board against Jerome on Monday, but Jerome never followed suit. They blew past the Tigers 9-0. The victory was just what Twin Falls needed coming off of an 11-3 defeat in their prior match.

TJ Bowman spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just zero earned runs on two hits and racked up six Ks. Those six strikeouts set a new season-high mark for him.

On the hitting side, Cooper Thompson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with five RBI, two doubles, and a run. The team also got some help courtesy of Slade Fisher, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Mountain Home's record is now 7-8. As for Twin Falls, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.
